Parents Upset Over A Bible!

I read this today.....very sad.

Some parents in a Texas school district are angry because Gideon International left some Bibles on a table inside a few middle and high schools... give me a break!
Members of Gideon left Bibles on cafeteria tables inside the district's middle and high school, under a school policy that allows materials to be distributed on tables... The materials usually discuss summer camps or tutoring.. The religious organization did not go evangelizing... they did not talk to the kids..... they simply left books for kids to read if they chose to pick them up... No one was making the kids pick up the Bibles. They were simple there....
The Director of Communications for the district told Fox News, "We have to handle this request in the same manner as other requests to distribute non-school literature - in a viewpoint neutral manner."
One of the parents said, "They should be giving those items wherever they worship. School is not a place to worship." My thinking is..... maybe there should be worship in school...it may bring down the crime rate....some kids might even develop a conscious.... a relationship with Christ... My question is How can that hurt?
It just amazes me - how people can get in a major uproar over a few Bibles... but not blink an eye at the Planned Parenting brochures that are sitting on a shelf in front of them.... Where are the morals???? I think things have gotten a little backwards.. don't you?

This was a school district the next city over. It outraged me that parents were actually upset by them just leaving a bible. It seems like these parents are really insecure and I personally don't see any problem with a child having the opportunity to pick up a bible and read it. This whole thing just outraged me and I honestly can't say all that I am feeling right now.

This just breaks my heart. What is more upsetting is that if this was any other religious book except for Bible or the Torah, it would be tolerated in the name of political correctness.

I am at a breaking point. Rather than teaching kids the love of Jesus they would rather give them birth control pills instead of telling them that premarital sex is wrong, rather then teaching kids about Jesus, they would rather give them anti-depressant to help them cope, rather than telling the children they are acting evil, they give them ritalian to force then into zombies.

If we do not as a society turn back to Jesus, it is finished.

If we Children of God do not speak out then who will?

If we want to solve the moral collapse in this country WE NEED to get back to the basics and the basics is our Christian heritage and the following of Jesus teachings.

I am at a loss...

It's the signs of the times we are living in. Jesus is coming soon and these people who do not believe in Him will be left behind. We need to continue to pray for our country and its leaders.

I recently bought a 1920 copy of Pilgrims Progress. It was a high school textbook! The forward stated that in order for America to remain great the schools had to instill the moral strength of God. How far we have fallen from that ideal!
