I love this song and every time I hear it - I cry. I know I am lucky to be an American and thankful to live in the land of the free. We must not forget the soldiers who fought to maintain our right to Liberty, Justice, and the Pursuit of Happiness... The American Way.
It Is The Soldier
It is the soldier, not the reporter,
Who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the soldier, not the poet,
Who has given us the freedom of speech.
It is the soldier, not the campus organizer,
Who has given us the freedom to demonstrate.
It is the soldier,
Who salutes the flag,
Who serves beneath the flag,
And whose coffin is draped by the flag,
Who allows the protester to burn the flag.
Father Denis Edward O'Brien, USMC
I dedicate this post to all American Soldiers - Past and Present.. Thank you and God Bless You!

I didn't get to all of the blogs yesterday so I'm trying to catch up. The tribute to our soldiers is great. I had several uncles who were in several wars. One uncle is still living (84 yrs old I think) and he was in 3 wars. He has Agent Orange in both his legs from one of the wars and the only other thing that happened was a gun shot wound between his ankle and heel. Another soldier was cleaning his gun and it went off accidentally. This uncle was my favorite.
I exchange emails with his #2 son (they have 5). He lives in Colorda Springs.
I read the story about your text message. I wouldn't know how to text either. My husband got one from our oldest daughter in April but he didn't even check it out. I found it and opened it up. He got charged for a text message and wondered why. Now we know. The story about the girl and her mother who got saved was amazing. Isn't God good.
God bless you, you write so well.
From my heart to yours,
AliceE.
I LOVE-LOVE-LOVE the poem and video you posted. Many warm wishes for remembering and reminding us all the reasons for Memorial Day.
God Belss and keep us all and thank you to all of our soldiers.
