Ephesians 6:1-4 Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord, for this is the right thing to do. "Honor your father and mother." This is the first of the Ten Commandments that ends with a promise. And this is the promise: If you honor your father and mother, "you will live a long life, full of blessing." And now a word to you fathers. Don't make your children angry by the way you treat them. Rather; bring them up with the discipline and instructions approved by the Lord.
Parents are entrusted with the responsibility of teaching their children to walk in God's way and of disciplining them in love. Children are to respond with respect and obedience.
Girl Raised By Dogs
This is a headline that I read last week... What is truly sad about this headline is that it is NOT a joke - it's true. On Wednesday of last week a young girl was found in an apartment in Russia. There was no heat, electricity, or water going into this apartment. The child - this baby of about four or five years old was living with dogs and cats.. In complete filth... The police believe the dogs and cats raised this little girl.
The father had kidnapped her when she was two and half years old from her mother. What kind of father would do this? Why kidnap a child only to destroy her?
Child protective services have said that the young girl does not have any social skills except that of an animal. She barks at the door and laps up her food.. They do believe she can understand Russian but does not talk..
The father may be charged with neglect of a minor.... Maybe - are you kidding me? This charge only carried a prison sentence up to three years.... I say throw away the key!!!!

What a sad story. Reminds me of a movie I saw on TV years ago about an older girl who lived in the woods and could not talk. I cannot remember the name but a man kept following her and eventually won her trust and he taught her to talk.
I missed your post yesterday but read it today and listened to the song. Open the Eyes of My Heart, Lord is one of my favorite songs.
