What Is Character? -

We know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character, and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us. Romans 5:3-5

My Sunday school class is studying character and I have to say that I find it to be the most meaningful study I have done in a long time. Character is what we show to the world... What we show to our children... Character is Who we are when no one is looking.... Character is developed by our belief system... our rights... and our wrongs...

I have been having struggles with character lately.... It's strange how when we pursue God more... the Evil one tries to pull you back even harder... I have to resist - I have to keep looking up.. I have to build up my character... I need to focus on Him and Him alone...

One of the things I love about blogging is the incredible women I have met - Oh Sew Good is SSSSEEEWWW good at telling me like it is and I love her for that.... She made a comment to me recently in one of my posts and God just laid her words on my heart.... today - I realized that I did not trust God enough... I did not take His job for me seriously.... I did not show the character that I need to show... One of the many things I love about my God - is that he gives me do-overs... and today - I am praying for a do over... He knows what it is... I don't need to say it here in this blog... but He knows...

The Golden Heart Award Goes To...

Jerriann from "Salty" Sister from Salt Creek Ranch honored me with this award, Thank you. Visit Jerriann's inspiring blog - you'll be happy you did

I have met many incredible women in blog-town... I feel I have sisters in Christ all over the place and that is an awesome thing. When we become followers of Christ it is amazing how many more family members we attain by our mutual love... our mutual beliefs..... and one day our mutual home.....standing in the Son..... I can only Imagine.... can't you...?
One of the things about blogging is that it gives you an opportunity to open up and share your faults, your achievements, your sadness, and share whatever you feel like on any particular day.. It is awesome to know that there are so many women - just like me that mess up often... That know that they really don't know much at all.... and lean on God and each other to lift them up..
The Rules for being honored with the Golden Heart Award - you must share the love.... and that is what I am going to do. The ladies are am giving the Golden Heart Award to are each very individual in their own way.. They are not afraid to put themselves out there... They have made me laugh out loud.... (many have a warped sense of humor like me), they have made me cry, and they have made me wish they lived next door so we could share a cup of hot tea....

Judy at Benmakesten is a mother of ten who home schools her children and has great ideas to share with others. She shows her devotion to family, Christ, and all people who have met her on a daily basis.. I am honored to have met her in Blogger Land..

Leslie at Olive Shoot is a lady that I have to love... She was adopted like my two daughters were. There is something very special about adopted children.. They were wanted above all else and they are loved forever.... Leslie has an awesome heart for the Lord and I love to read her stories, thoughts, and ideas...

Muthering Heights is an incredible woman who is almost ready to have a new baby boy. Her blog is amazing and a fun read. She has a heart for her family and for Christ...

Jacki (Alaska woman) at Hunting, fishing, and other grounds for divorce is an incredible writer. She has made me laugh out loud... and cry out loud. Jacki is the sister I have not met yet. She lives in a small town in Alaska and her talent for the written word makes me jealous
(in a good way) If you want to meet a kind hearted woman - be sure to visit this blog.

Tiffany at Tea with Tiffany is in inspirer. She finds God in all that she does and sees. I find myself seeking out her blog for words of wisdom and thought.

Mommie from Mom's Peace and Bits is great at sharing her thoughts and opinions on my posts. She always has something encouraging to say and she has a terrific blog.. check it out.

Mari from 365 days - she has been a constant commenter on my posts. She always lets me know that she has dropped by.. I love her blog. The pictures she takes in her neighborhood is amazing. She has an enormous talent for taking pictures.. Check her out....

So there you go.... These women are amazing and can bless your life.. Be sure to visit.

To Be A Beacon Of God's Love and Grace

When I travel through this blogger sphere I encounter many different kinds of blog sites. Many claiming to be Christian.... many claiming nothing at all... Many blogs I visit I feel right at home...and again some I visit...scare the spit out of me... I try not to stick to the same kind of sites over and over...sometimes I go outside my comfort zone...as I shared not too long ago.. I dared to travel into the atheist zone...silly me...that was so way over my head...I can see how new believers can get confused..but the commonality that I found in most of the atheist sites was the lack of kindness towards Christians... the lack of understanding and tolerance... My biggest impression was the sites were geared towards having unhealthy arguments... and mocking people of faith.. After my one and only encounter..I know better.. just don't say a word...I read some of the posts and it just makes me so sad..Sometimes, I just pray walk through the sites... I know God hears my prayers and I truly believe He is at work on these peoples hearts....He has to be...
There are so many amazing sites.. I have gotten some really good recipes and excellent advise. Discussed my faith and the faith of others. But one common thing I have seen on the sites I love is that they all are a beacon of love and hope for people who enter... That is my true desire...To share the gift of eternal salvation with everyone. I want to be a beacon of God's love and grace to anyone who visits my small spot in Blogger land... Thank you to all the people who have blessed me everyday.....
As Jesus said in Matthew 5:14-16
You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." (Matthew 5:14-16)
